The center is led by Professor ZHAO Wei, a leading talent of ‘Ten Thousand Talent Program’ - National high level talents special support plan.

The innovation team is integrating scientific & technology research and oceanographic survey for more than 10 years.

The team has built and continuously maintained the South China Sea Submarine Observatory Network, the largest ocean observation system in the world.

The center works closely with leading international oceanographic institutions such as Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and participates in large international observation programs such as OSNAP.
