Short Bio:

Dr. Chun Zhou, associate professor and master supervisor at the Sanya Oceanographic Institution, Ocean University of China. His research interests are processes in the deep ocean including circulation, mesoscale processes, etc., especially the spatio-temporal characteristics of Luzon Strait deep overflow, deep circulation in the South China Sea and Philippine Sea, and their modulation mechanism. Over 10 related papers have been published in Journal of Physical Oceanography, Scientific Report, etc. Besides, efforts are also dedicated to building of integrated ocean observation network and observational oceanography, based on mooring, buoy, and different kinds of instruments. Currently achievements include of supervising the mooring arrays in the eastern Indian Ocean and western boundary of the Philippine Sea, and attending the building of the South China Sea Mooring Array, OSNAP array in the north Atlantic. As PI, lead over 10 comprehensive cruises in the South China Sea and western Pacific.
