Short Bio:

Mr. Yanfeng Guan, engineer at the Sanya Oceanographic Institution, Ocean University of China. His research interests focus on ocean surveying and development of related instrument and observing system, including structural design, buoyancy calculation, etc. Currently achievements include participating in the building and maintenance of the South China Sea Mooring Array, mooring array in the western Pacific, Real-time Observation system of Kuroshio Extension in the Northwest Pacific, and the integrated ocean observation system of Mariana Trench. Mr. Guan has participated in up to 20 open ocean cruises with more than 700 days on board, and accumulated a lot of experiences in ocean surveying.
